Indian government offering scholarships to Malaysian Indian students

Malaysian students of Indian origin can now apply for financial assistance from the Indian Scholarship & Trust Fund (ISTF) for the 2016-2017 academic year offered by the Indian government.
The Indian High Commission, in a statement issued Friday, said the scholarship is only available to full-time students enrolled in local institutions of higher learning, and only one student from a family is eligible.
"Those ineligible are students pursuing Masters and higher-level courses,students pursuing part-time courses and past recipients of financial assistance from ISTF," it said.

Students meeting the above criteria can send their applications by post to the High Commission of India, Education Wing (ISTF Scholarship), Level 28, Menara 1 Mon’t Kiara, No.1, Jalan Kiara, Mont Kiara or they can call 03-6205 2350, extension 203 for queries.
The deadline for application is on July 22, and applications received after the stipulated date will not be entertained, it said.
Those short listed will be called for an interview in September, and successful candidates would be made awarded the financial assistance in October, stated the Indian High Commission.
