Customs officers have arrested an Indian national who allegedly attempted to smuggle what is believed to be drugs from Labuan to Kuala Lumpur.
They arrested the man at Labuan airport on Thursday after an auxiliary policeman spotted an image in the hand-carry luggage that raised his suspicion, Labuan Airport manager Ahmad Fikri Samsudin told Bernama today.
The man was about to board a flight for the KL International Airport at 11am.
Ahmad Fikri said Customs officers were alerted and they found a small bag containing white powder in the luggage.
Labuan Customs, when contacted, said the white powder had been sent to the Chemistry Department for analysis, and declined further comment.
Bernama learnt that the man had been remanded for investigation. -- Bernama
