Individuals entering Sarawak via Sabah must take COVID-19 test - Uggah

Effective Monday, Malaysian citizens and non-citizen residents who wish to enter Sarawak via Sabah will be required to take the COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test three days before embarking on their trip to the state.
Deputy Chief Minister I cum chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said they would also be required to fill out the ‘EnterSarawak’ form online, along with the requested supporting document/s.
He said as for Malaysian citizens arriving from Penang, there will be a random testing for COVID-19 awaiting them at the Kuching Airport.
“For Sarawakians returning from overseas, they will be quarantined at their First Point of Entry in Sarawak,” he told a press conference at the Old State Assembly Building here today.
Meanwhile, Uggah said Sarawakians who need to commute daily to Brunei and Sabah for work purposes will have to have a special letter from the District Disaster Management Committee in Miri or Limbang.
“They (commuting workers) will also be required to take the COVID-19 test once every two weeks while complying with the standard operating procedures set by the Ministry of Health,” he said.
