Indonesian worker found dead in oil palm plantation near Bintulu
He said the motive for the murder had yet to be ascertained and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
An Indonesian man was found dead in an oil palm plantation in Sebauh, Bintulu yesterday, after he was believed to have been murdered by his countryman.
Bintulu district police chief Supt Zailanni Amit said the body of the 30-year-old plantation worker, identified only as Agung, from Lombok, Indonesia, was discovered at 11.08pm.
He said according to a witness, the male suspect had stabbed the deceased on the abdomen using a knife when the victim was entering the workers' hostel where he (Agung) was staying.
"The suspect is identified as only Sarmin, aged 25, from Indonesia as well. The police are now closing in on the suspect," said Zailanni in a statement here today.
He said the motive for the murder had yet to be ascertained and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
