Innovation leaders, policy makers, industry players, thinkers and innovators from around the world are set to gather at the World Innovation Forum Kuala Lumpur 2013 (WIF-KL 2013) starting today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
More than 1,500 delegates from 25 countries and 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, which aims to create a new culture of innovation.
Organised by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Malaysian Innovation Foundation (YIM), the forum is a platform for high-level stakeholders to share on experiences, as well as discuss and deliberate on issues and strategies for inclusive innovations.
WIF-KL 2013 will consist of conference, exhibition and award ceremony. It will showcase a wide range of innovations such as grassroots, product innovation, education, research, commercialization and integration of innovation to propel the region toward high-income advanced economy nations.
Among the international speakers are former Prime Minister of Sweden Goran Persson, President and CEO of GE Money Singapore Rahul Gupta, and social entrepreneur Runo Okiomah from Nigeria.
Former Minister of International Trade and Industry Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and CEO of Tune Hotels Group Mark Lankester are also the featured speakers.
