The Royal Malaysian Police Force today launched the PDRM Integrity Plan 2016-2020 to achieve the ultimate aim of providing world-class policing service to the society.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the plan was an extension to the PDRM Integrity Plan introduced earlier.
Khalid said the plan was aimed at charting the vision and mission of the Police force in realising the ultimate aim of becoming a world class police force and to provide a high standard of service to the community.
"I must admit that the practice of integrity is paramount in the police force to prepare themselves to face various challenges. In short, the definition of integrity is doing the right thing in a positive way," he said.
He said the plan was to ensure policemen can fully understand the ethics and standard operating procedures.
Khalid was speaking to reporters after launching a book on Police Code of Ethics, PDRM Integrity Plan 2016-2020, Standard Compliance Manual and signing a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Institute of Integrity Malaysia (IIM) and Malaysian National Archives (ANM), here Tuesday.
The country's top cop said the Integrity Plan has six elements, namely integrity, moral, ethics, religion, spiritual and professionalism.
"The six elements will be synergised to improve integrity in the police force and ensure policemen fully understood standard operating procedures," he said.
Khalid said through the collaboration with the MACC, the police force would be able to share the expertise, information and training to raise the capacity of the force to combat crime and corruption.
