Intensive Bahasa Melayu class for Malaysian couple's children

The four children of a Malaysian couple on trial in Sweden are undergoing intensive class in Bahasa Melayu to help improve their proficiency.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim said the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Padang Kala and Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Kala Kelantan had begun the sessions for the four siblings.
She said the learning session was part of the government's efforts to help Aisha Azizul Raheem, 14, Ammar, 12, Adam, 11 and Arif, 7, who are now stable and no longer under depression.
She was speaking to reporters after closing the Women Entrepreneurship Convention 2014, here Sunday.
"The Welfare Department had sent two periodic reports to Wisma Putra on the situation of the four siblings," she said.
She said the report to be submitted to the Department of Social Services of Sweden was on physical and emotional development of the four children.
"The periodic reports state that the siblings are able to cope with their surroundings and have started socialising with their friends in school," she said.
Rohani said the department would do its utmost to help the family to be reunited and to meet the conditions set by the Sweden.
