The investigation paper on the case of a form five student who liked 'I Love Israel' in his Facebook has been sent to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) today.
Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said this followed completion of investigations under the Sedition Act.
He said two separate statements were recorded from a school teacher and a statement each was taken from the student's three friends.
Whether the student would be charged or otherwise would depend on the DPP, he said.
Abdul Rahim was speaking to reporters after a handing-over of duties ceremony involving Seberang Perai Selatan (SPS) police chief ACP Shafien Mamat here today.
On Wednesday, a form five student here was investigated under the Sedition Act, following his action on liking 'I Love Israel' in his Facebook which sparked a controversy in school.
It was also reported that a teacher of the school criticised the student in his Facebook account which went viral with comments from other users.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rahim said the police also investigated threats allegedly made against the student.
