Police have completed the investigation papers pertaining to the contents of a statutory declaration by Phang Li Koon, the former owner of a bungalow in Jalan Pinhorn, here which was sold to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for RM2.8 million.

Northeast District Police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the investigation papers would be submitted to the Attorney-General's Office next week for further directive.

"Police have formed a special team from Bukit Aman to investigate the case and we believe the investigation on the contents of the businesswoman's statutory declaration for allegedly providing false information had been completed.

"We recorded 10 statements, including from Phang and commissioner of oath to help in investigation and the investigation papers will be referred to the AG's Office soon," he told reporters here today.

Phang, 39, went to the Northeast District Police headquarters yesterday to give her statement on the purchase of the bangalow by Lim and was accompanied by two individuals believed to be her lawyers.

Earlier various parties, including Penang UMNO youth lodged a police report and asked the authorities to investigate Phang's statement in the statutory declaration claiming she did not have any business dealings with the DAP-led Penang government.

Tasek Gelugor Member of Parliament Datuk Shabudin Yahaya also urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate Lim on the purchase of the RM2.8-million bungalow which was allegedly lower than the market price.
