KUALA LUMPUR:Five people including two women were arrested in two separate raids here on Thursday for suspected involvement in investment fraud syndicate.
Dang Wangi Police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the suspects, aged between 22 and 33, were nabbed at two apartment units at Persiaran Hampshire and Jalan Yap Kwan Seng here.
He said the first arrest involved two Chinese men and a local woman while the second arrest involved a Chinese man and a woman.
The police seized 22 mobile phones, eight laptops and two modems, he said in a statement.
Mohamad Zainal said all those detained were remanded for four days starting yesterday to facilitate investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
