Ipoh teacher kills himself to be with parents

A teacher in Ipoh killed himself by inhaling charcoal.
“Please place my ashes together with my parents.”
That was the last message from Lim Sing King, 49, in a note found by his brother after discovering his body in his home at Taman Bercham Aman.
Lim a teacher had committed suicide by inhaling charcoal. His body was discovered by his brother.
The incident was only realised when Lim’s colleagues contacted his brother when Lim failed to turn up at school as he was known as a punctual teacher.
The deceased was found with blackened face and foam around his mouth. He was lying on the floor beside charcoal which had turned into ashes.
In his note, Lim had also asked for his two pet dogs to be taken care of.
The teacher who taught History in school is the youngest of three siblings.
His neighbour who declined to be named said he had smelled of strong charcoal that morning but did not suspect anything amiss.
He said the victim was also his normal self and was carrying out his routine activities like watering his flowers, washing car and talking to his neighbours.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong when contacted, confirmed the incident.
He said the police had received a call at about 10.50am.
“When we arrived at the scene, we found the victim was already dead and this was confirmed by the medical assistant from Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital,” he said.
“Initial investigation found no foul play and post mortem report showed the victim had died after inhaling carbon monoxide,” he said.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
