Ismail Sabri: EMCO in Felcra Nasaruddin, Felda Bersia in Perak from Wednesday

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the MOH had confirmed a sharp increase in cases, with 28 cases involving the cluster in Felcra Nasaruddin and currently 45 people were under mandatory Home Surveillance Order (HSO) in the locality.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be implemented in Felcra Nasaruddin and Felda Bersia, both in Perak, from tomorrow until Feb 16.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the Ministry of Health (MOH) had confirmed a sharp increase in cases, with 28 cases involving the cluster in Felcra Nasaruddin and currently 45 people were under mandatory Home Surveillance Order (HSO) in the locality.
“Apart from the situation of COVID-19 cases in Felcra Nasaruddin, the MOH also reported that there is an increase in positive COVID-19 cases in Felda Bersia. Based on advice and risk assessment by MOH, the government agreed to implement the EMCO in the areas,” he said at a press conference on MCO here today.
He said that in Felda Bersia, MOH had implemented 51 screenings, and out of that number 20 positive cases were recorded. The implementation of the EMCO will facilitate MOH in carrying out targeted screening involving 800 residents.
Ismail Sabri also announced that the EMCO enforced in Kampung Orang Asli Batu 6, Jalan Pahang, Batang Padang, Perak, which is scheduled to end tomorrow, has been extended for another seven days, until Feb 10.
“To date, MOH has conducted 309 screening tests, and out of that a total of 27 positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded.
“MOH confirmed that there are 34 residents who are still undergoing HSO, and one positive case is still in the isolation period,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said that the EMCO in Block C and School Block of the Muar Moral Rehabilitation Centre (PPA), Johor will end tomorrow as scheduled.
“Thus far, MOH has conducted 22 screening tests and all of them tested positive for COVID-19, however, all the positive cases isolated in these two blocks have fully recovered and no more samples are waiting for results,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the mandatory screening for foreign workers, Ismail Sabri said a total of 7,262 foreigners had undergone the COVID-19 screening test yesterday, and of that number 85 tested positive for COVID-19.
“Cumulatively, the Ministry of Human Resources said that a total of 273,032 foreign workers have undergone the screening test, involving 11,340 employers, and out of that number a total of 4,952 tested positive,” he said, adding that a total of 890 clinics are involved with this screening exercise.
