KUALA LUMPUR:The government needs at least a week to look at the effect of the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in flattening the COVID-19 curve.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said based on past experience, he was confident it could be done again.
"The ministry will closely monitor the situation and make announcements from time to time as well as discuss security issues at the National Security Council meeting," he said during his virtual press conference broadcast on the Ministry of Health's Facebook page yesterday.
Dr Noor Hisham added that the implementation of the CMCO would provide a balance between protecting the lives and livelihoods of the people.
The movement restriction order was enforced in Sabah from yesterday till Oct 26, while in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya it will take place from 12.01 am Oct 14 to Oct 27.
