Jaguar recreates two concept cars

The Cat theme continues from Asia Klasika to the 2016 London Classic Car Show, Jaguar has just announced that two legendary concept cars have been accurately recreated by classic car experts and the best news is that these reproductions will be on sale the classic Jaguar lovers!
The first is the 1966 Jaguar XJ13 that is powered by a prototype quad-cam 5.0-litre V12 engine. Only one XJ13 existed in the world and this car went on to claim a UK speed record when racing driver David Hobbs lapped the banked MIRA test track at an average speed of more than 259kph. Amazingly, the XJ13 held that record for the next 32 years!

Building the Legend, the company that rebuilt the XJ13 has sworn to replicate the original version of the car rather than the rebuilt XJ13 after the original had crashed during testing. The engine will be a SOHC V12 engine instead.
On the other hand, the Jaguar XK180’s rebuilt story had started with Eric Fintelman stumbling across the story of the car. Fintelman had liked the car so much that he bought a fibre-glass to install onto a classic Jaguar XJS chassis but with disappointing results. So Fintelman had reached out to Jaguar for access to the two prototypes and commissioned JePe Specials to recreated the car professionally.

Like the original concept, the Jaguar XK180 reproduction is based on XK8/XKR underpinnings and features a unique two-seat speedster body. The recreation uses a XKR convertible chassis with a supercharged 4.0-litre V8 engine but customers of the XK180 can specify a preferred XK8 chassis and engine.
We hear that the 2016 London Classic Car show is going to be a blast when it hits in February 2016. It’s not too late to grab your ticket to head over yet!
