Jailani Johari: Don't use the internet to insult others
Internet users should use the social media wisely and not create issues which could cause tension in society. Communication and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari said they should not use the internet to insult others, especially the country's leaders. "We know that internet users are smart people. So, they should use it for the good of everyone," he said after the Maulidur Rasul celebrations organised by the Hulu Terengganu Wanita Umno movement here today. Jailani was commenting on a recent caricature, 'PM Kangkong', on the social media. He said that in reality, the irresponsible parties (behind the caricature) were bankrupt of ideas to criticise the government, adding that this was because the government had done everything for the people, such as giving aid to flood victims, including those who were opposition supporters. Meanwhile, in another development, Jailani said he fully supported the formation of the Price Monitoring Committee by the government. He said the committee was important to stabilise the price of goods so that it would not be randomly increased by the traders. "The people can now complain to the committee if any trader increases prices unreasonably," he said.
