JAKIM requested all mosques to hold Hajat prayers

The Director General of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Dato 'Haji Othman Mustapha had requested all mosques throughout the country to hold ‘Hajat prayers’ for our security forces in Lahad Datu after the Friday prayers today.

This was in line with the Friday payer sermon entitled 'Responsibility in Defending the Nation' , which emphasises the importance of being united in defending our country from enemies.

The sermon also expressed regret over the intrusion, which occurred in Sabah causing bloodshed and the death of eight police officers.

Prior to that, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar on Thursday had ordered the Johor Islamic Religious Department to hold hajat prayer in all the mosques in the state for the national security forces in Sabah.
