PKR Women's chief Zuraida Kamaruddin has urged the police to monitor red shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos, who she claimed has caused public disturbance.
The Ampang MP was commenting on the group's recent misbehaviour of verbal attacks and threats.
"Jamal is like a beast on rampant violence. I urge the Inspector-General of Police to act more sternly and reign in Jamal. He is now doing as he pleases."
"He must be locked up to ensure that the Bersih rally can be carried out peacefully," she told Astro AWANI on Monday.
Jamal had allegedly claimed that he was punched in the face by one of 'Zuraida's boys' while his group was pursuing her and several Bersih supporters at the Ampang Point shopping mall around 4pm on Sunday, Malaysiakini reported.
The Bersih supporters were distributing flyers and promoting the fifth instalment of the planned rally on Nov 19.
It was understood that a scuffle then ensued following a provocation by one of the groups which resulted in the alleged blow on Jamal's face which left him with bloodied nose.
"Polis tumbuk saya, polis tumbuk saya! (Police punched me, police punched me!)," screamed Jamal, who is also Sungai Besar UMNO chief as shown in the footage published by KiniTV on Sunday.
Jamal later retorted citing that he was hit by one of 'Zuraida's boys'.
Following the incident, Jamal lodged a police report on the incident at the Ampang police station on Sunday at 5pm.
Zuraida also said Jamal's 'arrogance' and 'ungentlemanly' self had landed him in trouble.
"I received numerous calls from Malaysians congratulating me for 'punching' him. But, if you watch the video -- which has since gone viral -- it's clear that there was no presence of yellow shirts supporters during the fracas."
"So, a scuffle between him and the cops had occurred. I assume that was when he got hurt. It is, however, not clear if the police had hit him."
"After the incident, Jamal had made threats toward our safety. Hence, I will make a police report on Tuesday at 10am," she added.
Meanwhile, Zuraida also questioned Jamal's understanding on the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA) 2012.
"Jamal is clearly clueless on the concept of peaceful assembly. There's no problem if Red Shirt supporters wish to hold their gathering. But, do it professionally. Make a request to the police and follow necessary procedures."
"Don't behave like someone who has never been to schools and to act rowdy in other people's place."
Earlier, IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Bersih 5.0 group has yet to fulfil the prerequisites to organise gathering outside of Dataran Merdeka, KL.
He said the police did receive notices from the organisers but they had failed to comply with the prerequisites of PAA 2012.
Khalid added that no notice regarding a change of venue has been submitted to the police.
