Jamalul Kiram: 8 charged Filipinos are Malaysians
They say fickle-mindedness comes with old age. Jamalul Kiram III, has been proving that lately.
After a series of condemnation launched against the Malaysian government for charging eight Filipinos for terrorism and waging war against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Wednesday, the self-proclaimed Sulu Sultan now ‘disowns’ same eight that he defended vehemently.
The Philippine Star reported that Jamalul now claims that the eight are not Filipinos but Malaysians.
His spokesperson, Abraham Idjirani, said they learned about the nationality of the eight from the Sulu gang leader Agbimuddin Kiram’s wife’s relative.
On March 21, the Tawau High Court was told by one of the men charged with engaging in terrorism in Sabah that he was asked and paid to do so by someone.
Hooland Kalbi, who was among the eight Filipino charged for engaging in terrorist activities in Sabah, had said that he was foolish for doing so.
However, in a twist in the story, Idjirani said two of the men who were charged are dead.
He identified the two accused who were dead in his records as Holland and Lin Mad Salleh.
“What does the Malaysian government intend to do? They are lying through their teeth. They are fooling the Philippine government and the entire world.
“Hooland Kalibi is dead, that we are sure about.
“Malaysia will continue to lie so that the sultanate will not get any support from President Aquino, from our own government. Malaysia is fooling the world,” Idjirani had said.
Idjirani also dared Malaysia to allow international media access to the territory.
“I think we understand why they did not want international media to enter Sabah. It’s because they’re hiding something,” Idjirani has said.
