The High Court here set Jan 20 to hear an appeal by a married couple who was sentenced to 14 days' jail and RM3,000 fine for harassing a female Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) enforcement personnel last month.
High Court Senior Assistant Registrar Jackie Marry fixed the date when the case came up before her.
The appeal proceeding would be heard before High Court judge Wong Tek Meng.
The prosecution, represented by deputy public prosecutor Amira Haziqah Zulkifli, when met by reporters, said the date was fixed to hear the appeal by Lor Ka Hoo, 35, and his wife, Tan Sit Fun, 30, as well as the appeal by the prosecution.
The prosecution filed the appeal last Dec 15 seeking to increase the sentence imposed on couple, she said.
Meanwhile, lawyer Ethan W. H. Tan, said the couple filed the appeal today.
Lor and Tan had pleaded guilty to using criminal force to prevent MBSA enforcement personnel Nurul Ain Isa, 23, from discharging her duty.
