The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) will take appropriate action against the K-Pop B1A4 concert organiser following inappropriate acts which took place during the event.

Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) director-general, Datuk Othman Mustapha said the act of a tudung-clad Malay girl being hugged and kissed by a member of the B1A4 pop band last Saturday was very embarrassing to Malaysians, especially Muslims in this country.

"The girl involved in the incident seemed very obsessed with the K-Pop artiste concerned, public displays of gross behavior can be expected when concert organisers disregard the positive and negative effects of an entertainment event," he said in a statement released here today.

The act of the B1A4 band member kissing local girls during the KL Live stage show at Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, went viral on the social media.

The incident also caught the attention of Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin who tweeted: "I hope Malaysian girls return to tall, dark and handsome men and not pale, skinny and pretty men. Those are not real men."

Othman said the K-Pop B1A4 concert organiser should be held responsible for what had happened as Jakim in 2007 had issued Entertainment Guidelines in Islam, but have all parties including the concert organiser followed these guidelines and referred to Jakim prior to the concert.

"Jakim was not informed about this concert, therefore, I appeal to organisers and those authorising these entertainment events to give serious consideration on the pros and cons of holding events," he said.
