Johor Fire Dept ready with adequate assets, personnel to face floods

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department has adequate assets and personnel to face the monsoon season and the possibility of floods in the state later this year.
Its assistant director of operations, Mohd Rizal Buang, said the department had also ensured that all of its assets were in good conditions and suitable strategies had also been drawn up to face all possibilities.
"Our assets include 72 boats of various types, 18 lorries of numerous types and 72 four-wheel-drive vehicles," he said when contacted by Bernama, here Tuesday.
Mohd Rizal said there were 2,256 firemen statewide, 1,247 of whom were full-time personnel, 59 back-up firemen and 950 volunteers.
