Johor govt offers legal aid for families of cycling accident victims

The Johor government has offered to provide legal aid to the families of the victims involved in the cycling tragedy near here Saturday morning.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the move was being taken to provide suitable legal assistance to the families affected by the tragedy.
"The state government will help the families by appointing lawyers to review the next course of action," he said in a statement here Saturday.
Mohamed Khaled also said the state government would provide immediate financial aid of RM1,600 to each family of the victims who were killed in the incident.
He said the aid, from the State Funeral Fund, Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAIJ) and the Social Welfare Department, would be channelled through state and federal agencies.
