Johor PH not involved in election campaign sabotage - Salahuddin

Salahuddin hoped that other parties would also practise mature politics and steer clear of unlawful acts.

"I will ensure that the PH machinery in the Pulai parliamentary constituency abides by the law. I can assure you that PH did not commit any acts of sabotage," he told reporters after a walkabout at the Bukit Indah night market here today.

The incumbent Pulai MP said this when commenting on cases of party flags being vandalised in Johor since the start of the 15th general election (GE15) campaign last Saturday.

On his campaign, Salahuddin, who is Amanah deputy president, said he had been receiving good response from voters.

Earlier, Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Pulai Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed also went to the same location to woo traders and visitors.

Nur Jazlan told Bernama that his campaign had gone well in the first five days, whether conducted in person or through social media.

"My focus now is to tackle the areas said to be not supporting me. I was the elected representative here for three terms; actually they already know me," said the Johor UMNO deputy chairman.

Salahuddin is facing a three-cornered fight with Nur Jazlan and Loh Kah Yong of Perikatan Nasional-Gerakan.

In GE14, Salahuddin beat Nur Jazlan, the then Pulai incumbent, by a majority of 28,924 votes.
