Johor police hunt for Myanmar man for killing his employer
ACP Sulaiman Salleh said the 26-year-old suspect was working as a waiter at the stall.
The Johor police are hunting for a Myanmar national who fled after killing his employer at a food stall at Jalan Dato Abdullah Tahir here.
Johor Bahru district police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh said the 26-year-old suspect was working as a waiter at the stall.
The murdered employer was also the cook, aged 32, he said in a statement.
Sulaiman said the incident occurred at 10.30am and the victim died at the scene after being stabbed in the abdomen with a 14-inch knife.
"The suspect was believed to have done so because he was angry after being told off by the employer for talking too long to his girlfriend (who was also a worker at the stall).
"The incident was reported by people who had heard the fight in the kitchen," he said.
He added after a dispute, the suspect fled with the knife which was then thrown into a small ornamental pond located in front of the stall.
The victim's body was sent to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for post-mortem and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
