Johor polls: DAP, Amanah to use PH's logo

KUALA LUMPUR: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council which met today has agreed for DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) to use the coalition's logo in the upcoming Johor State Election.
The meeting also agreed for PKR to contest using its own logo.
The matter was stated in a joint statement by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau today.
The statement also informed that PKR, DAP and Amanah would finalise seat allocations for the election besides continuing talks on cooperation with all opposition parties including the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA)
"This will further strengthen the opposition bloc in facing the upcoming Johor state election," according to the statement.
Last Saturday, Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar consented to the dissolution of the Johor Legislative Assembly to pave the way for the state election.
The previous government led by Barisan Nasional (BN) had 28 state seats with UMNO holding 14 seats, MIC (two), Bersatu (11), and PAS (one) while Pakatan Harapan held 27 seats, DAP (14), PKR (seven), and Amanah (six).
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad was reported to have said that the Johor State Legislative Assembly was dissolved to enable the government to get a fresh and strong mandate to intensify development in the state.
