Johor Sultan attends tahlil for late Tunku Abdul Jalil

The Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar attended a Tahlil prayer and recital of Yasin for his son, the late Tunku Laksamana of Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil, tonight.
The event was held at the Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil Mosque of the Johor Police Contingent Headquarters here, in conjunction with the first anniversary of the prince's death.
Also present were the Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and his siblings, Tunku Tun Aminah, Tunku Idris Iskandar, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Abu Bakar.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also attended the event, along with Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, Johor Police chief Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd, State Secretary Datuk Ismail Karim, State Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Aziz and the state executive council members.
The event began with the Maghrib prayer led by Imam Mahdir Abdan Al Hafiz, while the Tahlil prayer and recital of Yasin was led by the Mufti of Johor Datuk Mohd Tahrir Shamsuddin.
Tunku Abdul Jalil died on Dec 5 last year at the age of 25 after battling with liver cancer. -- BERNAMA
