Johor Sultan coronation: Tunku Mahkota of Johor tops lis of 83 award recipients

The Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the eldest son of the Sultan of Johor, topped the list of 83 recipients of awards and medals bestowed today in conjunction with the coronation of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on Monday.
Tunku Ismail was conferred the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Pertama Dato' Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (S.M.I.J).
Other recipients of the S.M.I.J award were Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Sultan Ibrahim, the Johor Sultan's mother, Enche' Besar Hajah Khalsom Abdullah, Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli, the Yang Di-Pertua of the Johor Council of the Royal Court also received the S.M.I.J. award.
Sultan Ibrahim also conferred the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Kedua Dato' Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (D.M.I.J) to Johor State Secretary, Datuk Ismail Karim and Johor State Financial Officer, Marsan Kassim.
D.M.I.J carries the title Datuk.
Johor Council of Royal Court secretary, Datuk Abdul Latiff Yusof, Member of the Advisory Council of Johor Royal Court, Brig Gen (Rtd) Datuk Ali Musa and Johor Deputy State Secretary (Management) Amran A. Rahman received the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Ketiga Setia Mulia Sultan

Meanwhile, 69 people were awarded the Pingat Sultan Ibrahim Pangkat Kedua (P.S.I II).
Among recipients of the P.S.I II award were Johor Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff, Johor Baharu Mayor, Datuk Abd Rahman Mohamed Dewam, State Health director, Datuk Dr Mohd Khairi Yakub and director of the Royal Abu Bakar Museum, Datuk Paiman Keromo.
Other recipients of the P.S.I II award were 10 state executive council members including Chairman of the Women, Family and Community Development committee, Asiah Md. Ariff; Chairman of the state committee for Tourism, Trade and Consumerism, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong; Chairman of the state committee for Works, Road and Regional Development, Datuk Ir. Hasni Mohammad; Chairman of the state committee on Religion, Abd Mutalip Abd Rahim; Chairman of the state committee on Unity and Human Resources, R Vidyananthan; Chairman of the state committee on Health and Environment, Datuk Ayub Rahmat and; Chairman of the state committee on Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Ismail Mohamed.
The investiture ceremony was held at the Istana Besar here.
