Journalism in digital age, attracting advertisement revenue among key topics in HAWANA forum
The National Journalists Day or Hawana will feature a forum focusing on the topics of journalism in the digital age as well as attracting advertising revenue, May 26, 2023. - BERNAMA
KUALA LUMPUR: The National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2023 in Ipoh, Perak, will see industry players and other experts discussing the survival of traditional media in the digital age as well as ways to attract advertising revenue in the HAWANA Forum, titled "Future of Media".
Jakarta Post's editor-in-chief, M Taufiqurrahman is expected to share on the survival of the traditional media in Indonesia and how it has maintained its advertisers.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Advertisers Association senior advisor, Mohammad Kadri Taib is set to share information on how the association can help redivert advertisers' interest to traditional media as well as how traditional media can also adapt and innovate.
The Forum will be held on the second of the three-day event which kicks off on May 27.
Additionally, Suhaimi Sulaiman, the director-general of Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), is set to share his personal take on transforming several leading TV stations in the country, the importance of conventional journalism in the age of fake news, as well as digital and mobile journalism.
The forum will be officiated by Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil.
Aside from the forum, a variety of other exciting activities also await visitors to the Hawana Mini Carnival on May 27-28 from 10 am-6 pm at Concourse 2, Mydin Mall Meru.
Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) head of broadcasting, D. Arul Rajoo said the carnival will feature interactive slots with BERNAMA personalities, Pocket Talk and Sayadigital as well as meet and greet sessions with local artists and celebrities.
"Also included is a 30-minute programme with various agencies such as the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, RTM, CyberSecurity Malaysia, Sarawak Media Associations, Information Department, Tourism Perak, Tourism Selama and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission," he said.
