A woman journalist with a Tamil newspaper here, once again received a threat from an unidentified individual following a news report on the arrest of 33 men, on Jan 28, suspected of trying to cause
trouble during the Thaipusam celebrations.
This time, the reporter claimed to have received a phone call at about 9.11 last night from a man threatening "to finish her off" if he came across her in Penang.
"He also threatened to go my house in Ipoh, Perak, to do something and stated several times that he would definitely finish me off as soon as possible," she said.
She lodged a police report at the Northeast district police headquarters, here, at 11.35 last night.
This was the second time the 27-year-old journalist was threatened since news of the arrest of the 33 men appeared in the newspaper. On Jan 28, the reporter claimed to receive a phone call threatening to assault her and to take legal action against her.
Northeast district police chief, ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, when contacted today, said police were tracing the suspect through the telephone number used to call the woman journalist.
