Kadir Jasin: Print media will survive in digital era
Despite rife rumours that the digital era will kill the print media, there are those who believe that the print media will flourish competitively with the digital media.
National Journalism Laureate Datuk A. Kadir Jasin said that the print media is relevant depending on how it reacts and repositions itself with changing technology.
“The print media, while they continue to print in a atomic form which is on paper, they are also having the online version.
“The combination of the two attracts additional readers and help them to be more versatile. There will be readers who will read both print and online,” he told Astro Awani.
Kadir also opined that younger readers may solely rely on the internet to get their daily doses of news.
“The younger readers may tend to read more or exclusively the internet version. So it depends very much on how the print media is able to adapt to the changing technological environment,” he said.
