Kampar MP and Eric Paulsen to be probed under Sedition Act - Khalid

Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Kapar MP, Dr Ko Chung Sen and lawyer Eric Paulsen will be investigated under the Sedition Act.

Khalid in his Twitter on Saturday had also uploaded two photos, adding that such statements needed to be investigated under the Act.

Ko is to be investigated for his statement on teaching Islamic Civilisation in universities while Paulsen on claims that Jakim promotes extremisme.

However, Ko had told the Star Online that his photo was edited with the words "Hapus subjek Tamadun Islam. Ini hak kami! Kami bayar cukai” (Abolish Islamic Civilisation subject. It is our right. We are tax paying citizens).

He was also quoted saying he was disappointed that Khalid had announced the investigation, based on a cybertrooper website.

Malaysiakini said the photo which was credited to them, was taken at a press conference.

The press conference was reportedly held by Ko, questioning the Education Ministry for making the subject a compulsory one for all private universitites.
