Kampung Panji Alam residents clean up village following dengue outbreak

With dengue having claimed two lives in their village since the year started, residents of Kampung Panji Alam here have swung into action in cleaning up their respective house compounds to stem the tide.
Housewife, Kamsiah Muda, 42, said each morning and evening she would do cleaning of her house compound the ensure Aedes mosquitoes do not get a chance to breed.
"There has been dengue cases here before but not this bad," she said when met by Bernama at her home.
Her neighbour, Mazlan Abdullah, 48, said they could not sit idly by and just hope the authorities will do the job.
The fatalities involved a 65-year-old senior citizen and a 49-year-old woman.
