Kampung Tanduo residents are set to go back to their respective houses to resume their daily lives as usual, after the village was declared clean last week.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the residents are expected to be back in their houses by Tuesday.
“We have arranged for the head of families and the village chief to be taken into the village to assess the situation of their homes. They will be accompanied by representatives of the district office and the security forces,” he said at a press conference at Felda Sahabat today.
Meanwhile, Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Zin who was also at the press conference said a damage assessment team has already been sent to the village a couple of days ago.
“The damage assessment team consists of the National security council, Lahad Datu District officer and police,” he said.
He added that the Ops Daulat operation in Kampung Tanjung Batu is expected to be wrapped up in a day or two.
