Kampung Tanjung Batu to be clean and safe by tomorrow
The security forces are expected to declare Kampung Tanjung Batu, where the mopping and flushing Ops Daultat operation is currently underway, to be completely clean and safe tomorrow.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said this is because the processes of tracking down the enemies and bringing out the dead bodies are almost done.
“The whole of Sabah is under control except for the operation area in Kampung Tanjung Batu,” he said at a press conference at Felda sahabat today.
Hamza also said that after the area is declared clean, the security team will have a nomination to see if the place could be reopened for public access.
Meanwhile, Hamza said the body of the Sulu gunmen who was killed in the gun battle earlier today has been brought out of the battle ground and sent to the forensic team for post mortem.
The Sulu terrorist was shot dead by the security forces in the Ops Daulat offensive in Kampung Tanjung Batu on Sunday morning.
This brings the enemy death toll thus far to 62.
