Karpal Singh steps aside as DAP chairman

Karpal Singh has decided to step aside as DAP chairman pending his sedition case appeal.

The media portal MStar reported that the post will be filled by DAP’s deputy chairman, Tan Kok Wai.

It is also reported that a press conference will be held in Penang on Saturday where Karpal is expected to make his announcement on the matter.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court hadon March 11, fined Karpal RM4,000 after being found guilty of uttering a seditious statement involving the Sultan of Perak.
