Kayveas to be appointed as Transport Minister?

PPP president Datuk Seri Dr M Kayveas may fill the Transport Minister post, according to a report by China Press.

The Chinese daily, which cited a "reliable source", reported that Kayveas will likely be given the opportunity to take up the key post in the Transport Ministry during his meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The report, however, did not reveal when the appointment will be made. The source also revealed that Kayveas can be the next Transport Minister, if MCA does not overturn its resolution of not taking up any cabinet post.

Following MCA's decision of not taking up any cabinet post, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has been appointed as the acting Transport Minister -- as a temporary move to keep a position vacant for MCA.
