Kedah: 40 per cent spike in dengue cases between Jan 1-April 18

Kedah has recorded a 40.1 per cent increase in the number of dengue cases or 290 cases, between Jan 1 and April 18. During the same period last year, a total of 207 cases were recorded.
Nevertheless, state health director Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said at the moment, only one death due to dengue complication was reported in the Kuala Muda district.
He said the Kulim district recorded the highest number of cases at 68, followed by Kota Setar (60), Baling (23), Kubang Pasu (23), Yan (15), Padang Terap (10), and six each in Bandar Baharu and Sik.
