Kedah Exco members to use Proton Perdana as official car

All Kedah state executive council (exco) members will be provided with Proton Perdana 2.5 L for use as their official car, replacing the Toyota Camry that were purchased by the previous state government under PAS. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr. Mahathir said the exco members would begin using the Proton Perdana next month, while the existing Toyota Camry would be sold to the former exco members at a reasonable price. Proton Perdana was selected for use as an official car for the state exco members because it was the cheapest among five brand-type of vehicles that were evaluated, he told reporters after presenting rewards to athletes who won medals at the 16th Sukma Games in Kuala Lumpur. On the sale of the Toyota Camry, he said it would be offered to the former state exco members during the previous PAS government. "That is a normal practice," he added. As for him, he said, he would continue to use the Mercedes Benz S Class which was bought by the previous PAS state government as the car was still in good condition.
