Kelantan and Selangor rulers visit economic project for the poor

The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V and the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today visited the Asnaf Economic Development Project of Selangor Zakat Board (SZB) at Kampung Gong Jenerah, Bukit Awang here.
The project, which involved the cultivation of chilli and building of 30 homes for the poor, is implemented with the collaboration of Kelantan Islamic and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) and Pasir Puteh Land Office.
The Sultan of Kelantan also launched the ceremony and handed over Desa Alam Shah house keys to the poor.
In his speech, SZB chairman Tan Sri Syed Anwar Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail said the 29 participants of the chilli project enjoyed income of RM1,200 monthly.
Also present during the visit were Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan, Tengku Dr Muhammad Faiz Petra Sultan Ismail Petra, Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan, Tengku Muhammad Rizam Tengku Aziz, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, and Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
