The Kelantan police on Thursday denied an allegation that a Malaysian child was found begging by Thai police in the neighbouring country.
State Criminal Investigation Department spokesman said the allegation, which is now viral in the social media, had been disseminated via Facebook on May 21, 2014.
"This went viral on May 21, 2014 and it is not true," he told Bernama here.
Meanwhile, Tumpat police chief Supt Zaharudin Rasip refuted that his officer had gone to Thailand to investigate the matter.
"No investigating officer was sent to Thailand today (Thursday)," he said.
