KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan government is prepared to buy the COVID-19 vaccine on its own if the supply provided by the federal government is not enough, State Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin said.
In such a situation, he said, the state government would be prepared to to buy any type of vaccine, be it Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac or CanSino.
"If we see the supply of vaccine is decreasing, but the COVID-19 cases are increasing, then the state government will not hesitate to buy the vaccine on its own. We are making the calculation now, should we not get the supply as expected, we have to top-up." he added.
He was met after the opening of the Kelantan State Assembly at the Kota Darul Naim Complex, here today.
