JOHOR BAHRU: The Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) concept, introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, should be welcomed by all Malaysians, especially in Johor, as it highlights three core values - prosperity, strengthening national unity and integration.
Johor Menteri Besar (MB) Datuk Hasni Mohamad said these core values were relevant in building an independent and sovereign nation.
He said it was important to uphold these values as the country, along with Johor, was home to a diverse mix of races, ethnicities, cultures, languages and religions, which represented a challenge unique to Malaysia.
"In general, I think the overall message of Keluarga Malaysia is so that we can all accept similarities and differences based on the values and characteristics of the concept, in accordance to the Federal Constitution, state constitution and the Rukun Negara.
"As such, I think Johor's ability to develop the concept of Muafakat Bangsa Johor can be applied within the framework and concept of Keluarga Malaysia because all Malaysian government initiatives must be holistic and inclusive and transcend religious, racial and regional boundaries," he said at the launch of the Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (AKM) Tour programme at Dataran Angsana here today.
Hasni said the organisation of the tour, with Johor being the first location, was important especially among youth as they would be the hope for the continued legacy of the country's development.
"Therefore, I urge all young Johoreans to get involved in various programmes to develop themselves, their family, our society and country," he said.
Hasni also said that the state government emphasised various matters in balanced development, including ensuring that citizens would benefit from various programmes.
In addition, the state government also wanted to ensure that the modern education system and religious education were successful as well as to ensure that religious freedom thrived in a peaceful and harmonious manner.
