KUALA LUMPUR:Ketari State Assemblywoman (ADUN), Young Syefura Othman has apologised and is willing to be investigated after her recent picnic photo went viral on social media.
The apology was made through a post on her Twitter account today.
"I apologise if my actions violate any COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).
"I am not using any advantage as an elected representative to move within Selangor, my state of residence.
"I am willing to be investigated by the authorities if my action violates any COVID-19 SOP," she said.
The viral picture shows Young Syefura having a picnic by the beach near Sepang with three other individuals.
It spread after the assemblywoman herself was said to have uploaded it to her Instagram account.
However, it was found to have been deleted after getting the attention of netizens who questioned her action.
In fact, some netizens were urging Young Syefura to resign following her action.
Picnic activities were among those prohibited under the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Selangor has been placed under CMCO since October 14 and is expected to end on December 6.
