Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, Datuk Dr Khairuddin Aman Razali has decided to stick to his statement of apology and declined comment on the police investigation into his violation of quarantine standard operating procedure (SOP).
He said the issue could be referred to his official statement that was issued recently.
"I abide by the statement issued by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and my official statement in writing, refer to the statement," he said.
Khairuddin who is also the Member of Parliament for Kuala Nerus said this when met at the opening ceremony of the operations room and Pas Headquarters at DUN Tanjung Keramat, Putatan today.
He had previously made an apology to Malaysians for his mistake in violating the SOP related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the record, the Director-General of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdulah had said although Khairuddin was compounded RM1,000 for the offence, he was still referred to the police.
Earlier, Khairuddin who was said to have to undergo quarantine after returning from Turkey on July 7, had instead attended a parliamentary session on July 13.
