REMBAU: National COVID-19 Immunisation Program Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin became the first individual in the country to receive the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine to prevent COVID-19 at the Rembau Hospital on Thursday.
The Rembau Member of Parliament received the Sinovac vaccine jab at exactly 1.32 pm and he was injected by the Chief Nurse Supervisor of Rembau Hospital, Salha Abd Samad.
Khairy looked calm while receiving the vaccine during the process which took less than a minute.
After the Rembau MP was vaccinated, hospital and ministry staff applauded, as a sign of completion of the first Sinovac vaccine in Malaysia.
A total of 10 frontline workers then received the vaccine and they were also injected by Salha and several other health officials.
