Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim apologised to People's Justice Party (PKR) members for calling off the Selangor division party elections.
“I apologise to all Keadilan members because of the election failure. We really need a thorough reformation,” Khalid said through his Twitter account on Sunday.
The election was called called off following objection from members who cited irregularities in the manner the polls was carried out.
Khalid, who is gunning for the deputy president post, said that every complaint would be brought up to the party election committee.
“This complaint and action is important for us to show that Keadilan is clean when conducting its elections,” he added.
According to report, PKR elections in nine divisions in Selangor had to be called off at about 4.30pm on Sunday following numerous allegations of sabotage, including a report of ballot boxes allegedly being carried away in Selayang.
The divisions that called off the polls were Subang, Hulu Langat, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Klang, Kuala Selangor, Kota Raja and Selayang.
Khalid's press secretary Arfa’eza Aziz announced this via her Twitter account.
