Inspector-General of police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar denied issuing a press release allegedly stating that the police had ordered for the temple in Batu Caves to be demolished.
Khalid denied this matter via his twitter and Facebook page.
Police are currently conducting its investigation to identify the individual/quarters involved in spreading the widely circulated statement entitled ‘'Notice of Demolition of the Batu Cave Temple'.
The statement among others stated that the notice of demolition was issued by the police and that the site had been taken over by the government for the construction of a ‘city’.
It also went on to state that those responsible for the temple were to evacuate the site while members of the public were informed not to visit the area beginning May 2 as demolition works would commence.
