Khalid denies paying RM15 million to Anwar
Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has denied an allegation that he paid claims totalling RM15 million to State Economic Adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last year.
When approached by reporters after the State Assembly session here Friday, the Selangor Menteri Besar said: "It's not true."
Meanwhile, Press Secretary to the Menteri Besar, Arfaa' Eza Abdul Aziz also denied the allegation and insisted Khalid never made any statement on the claims.
"The Menteri Besar's Office never issued any statement on Anwar's claims. I am surprised how the issue came about, even saying it was posted on the state government official website.
"I did some checking and found that no such report was posted and does not dismiss it as a ploy by irresponsible people," she told Bernama.
Several blogs reported that Anwar allegedly made claims of about RM15 million last year involving office allowances, overseas travel and subsistence.
