Khalid denies Zeti being detained regarding 1MDB issue

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has denied rumours that police will soon detain Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz regarding the investigation into state investment company 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“We ourselves don’t know the source of the allegations and rumours,” said Khalid who stressed police have not detained and are not probing Zeti as claimed on social media here today.
The rumours surfaced from a blog which claimed Zeti and other Bank Negara officials are being probed by the police regarding the 1MDB issue under Section 124 of the Penal Code.
Khalid however stopped short of commenting further on 1MDB, saying it was out of his jurisdiction.
“I will not answer any questions regarding the 1MDB issue as there is already a Special Task Force carrying out the investigations,” he said.
