Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will take his oath of office as Selangor Menteri Besar for the second term before the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, at Istana Alam Shah, Klang Tuesday.

According to a Bernama report, this was confirmed by an officer at the Selangor Menteri Besar's Office Press secretariat today.

This development put an end to the puzzle and speculations that have cropped up for the past one week, since the May 5 general election, on who would be appointed to the post.

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid, met by reporters after an audience with the Selangor Sultan at Istana Bukit Kayangan here, said the line-up of the state executive council members would be finalised in two weeks.

Abdul Khalid was sworn in as Selangor Menteri Besar, the 13th, for the first time on March 13, 2008 after the 12th general election, becoming the first leader from the opposition parties to be appointed to the post.

In the just-concluded 13th general election, the opposition pact, comprising Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), PAS and DAP, won 44 out of 56 state seats in Selangor, 14 though PKR and 15 each through PAS and DAP.

In the 2008 general election, it won 36 seats.
